Happy Memorial Day!!

Happy Memorial Day!!

Made out of dollar store items...foam wreath, extra Christmas glass balls, red, blue and star garland and some wooden plaques I had left over from another project....

With a little help from my silhouette machine and a glue gun, I present to you my festive patriotic wreath! You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be using this for the fourth of July as well as Labor Day Weekend!

Let Go and Let God

I  was inspired by a craft I saw on etsy so I can't say this was my idea...but I loved it so much I had to re create it.  I started by painting this 16x20 canvas to look like a sky fading it from darker blue to a lighter blue.  I used my nifty silhouette machine to cut out a dandelion, the "pollen" and the phrase:

"Let Go and Let God"

I love it and it's a constant reminder to give my worry away to Him....to
Let go and let God.

Featured: A Little Tipsy- Handprint Heart

I just found a really cool blog- A Little Tipsy.  She has such cute ideas like this fabric heart tutorial.

And then I saw this cute hand print heart that she had her kids make last Valentines Day and wanted to get my kids to try it.  They actually did quite well with it considering they are 15 months and 3 1/2!

Thanks A Little Tipsy for the awesome new Valentines Day crafts!

New Blog

Hello Faith Works Followers,

As if I don't have enough going on in my life...between our business (SMA); our family; band practice and service; keeping up with this blog, keeping up with our family blog  (which I've been slacking on); and everything that life brings...I've decided to start yet another blog- Words to Grow On.  This blog is about my journey through faith and all that I'm learning...all the ways I'm growing. I hope you'll come and following along.

All You Need Is Love...

"All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need."

This Valentines Day craft was inspired by this classic Beatles song.  Here's what you'll need:

A wooden board (decorative edges give it a nice touch)
Wooden Letters: L O V & E
White, Black, Poodle skirt pink paint
paint brushes
Sandpaper
Glitter black paint

~Tutorial~

Start with your wooden board. I found a bunch of these at Michaels in different sizes.
The key is finding the correct size letters to fit right on the board.

Paint it white.

Next, you'll paint the board black...I know you just painted it white but....after painting it black you'll sand it so that you can see the white underneath.
This will give you a rustic/older look.

Now, we're going to do the opposite- paint the letters black.

Now, paint the poodle skirt pink over the black
and sand it down.  Cool, eh?

Lastly, put all the pieces together and use your
black sparkle paint to write out
"All You Need Is" on the LOVE.
(one word per letter)

It's the perfect addition!

XoXo

I just LOVE hugs and kisses- XoXo and I love those pretty colored marbles...put the two together and you have a pretty cool project for Valentines Day.

I started off with one of these shadow boxes from Michaels (on sale for $2!!).

Pretty pink, red and white marbles...

Now, get creative! I did originally write out LOVE but the red marbles didn't show up well against the black background :( ...but the XOXO came out SO cute. I added some sparkly paint for hearts and voila!

I think this looks too cute in my hutch!  I'll have to add some more valentines crafts to it though ;)

Valentines Day Heart Wreath

With Valentines Day around the corner, I'll be posting some v-day crafts with tutorials.  I love this time of year...not only is Valentines Day such a great day but my birthday is right before it.  Love LOVE February :).  Here's the first of several crafts: Valentines Day Heart Wreath.

First you'll wanna get one of these darling heart wreaths at Michaels.  You'll need modge podge (<3) and sparkles.

Coat the entire wreath in modge podge and shake sparkles over it to cover...I put the wreath over the sink because this gets WAY messy :)

Once covered, let dry and decorate. I hot glued pink, red and white marbles to it and some pretty sparkly ribbon...but you could use whatever your "heart" desires :)
