I LOVE Yankee candels, but do you ever have a problem lighting them when the wick is so far down? Use a piece of dry spaghetti to light those hard to reach candles!
Also, when you put a taper candle in a cute glass, sometimes after they've been lit for a while, they are a melted mess...to get candle wax out of your candle cups, place in the freezer for a day and it will pop right out!
My cousin over at Mine for the Making made these coasters with her great find at the dollar store and I thought I’d try and use Mod Podge for the first time as I have been inspired by her! So here goes. I used her tutorial which you can find here. I couldn’t find dollar store coasters, although I have seen those dreadful lobster ones before. However, I ended up with a fantastic find! I went on ebay and found round coasters 12 for $1! Here’s the link to that vendor. Anyway, I started with the coaster and followed Mine for the Making’s tutorial…but failed miserably. I couldn’t quite get the cut-out to match up with the size of the coaster and even after trying a razor, a scissor and a rotary cutter…still, it looked pretty crappy. Luckily! I just bought a silhouette and had a bright idea- I measured the coasters (3.75in) and printed out all of the circles on the designed paper from there. I got a perfect cut! No trimming necessary! I actually used my tip from last Tuesday and used wallpaper for my coasters.
They turned out really cute! Here’s the finished product:I guess I’m not as crafty (an definitely don’t have as much patience) as Mine for the Making but this worked for me! Happy Crafting!!
So I'm starting up a new weekly post called "Tuesdays Tip". I'll be posting a tip each Tuesday that will hopefully make your lives a bit easier. Today's tip- WALLPAPER.
Yep, that's right folks...go to your local paint store and ask them to contact you when they have discontinued wallpaper books. What will you do with this massive book of different wallpaper prints, you ask?? Well, scrapbook of course! I'll be posting some of my new scrapbooking templates soon and some will have this FREE paper. So what are you waiting for?? Go call Jervic!! Who doesn't like a freebie!?!?!

Okay, all you mommies out there...I have a tip for you.
So my 3 year old is really good about eating his fruits and veggies but I still like to sneak them in where I can. So today, when he asked me to make him some pancakes, I decided to add some of the purees I have frozen for my daughter's baby food. I experimented with the mango puree ...I know, you're thinking- GROSS...but I'm telling you they came out GREAT! For this I used the Bisquick recipe and just added about 4 TBS. of the mango puree. The mango was very subtle and at least I know I got one more good thing into my little guy today! If mangoes worked I'm pretty sure your options are endless...so go crazy!
