What’s in a Name?
I love anything that makes a baby room more personal which is why I love personalizing wall letters. I recently made these for a friend of mine who was redoing her son’s room. The theme was transportation. She sent me pictures of the décor and from there I went to Michaels for some cute scrapbooking paper.
First I painted the letters and after tracing the letters on the BACK of the scrapbook paper, I cut out the letter and mod podged it on. I found some cool embellishments (car wheels off one of my sons MANY cars ), street sign stickers, etc. and voila! Super Cute!
Doesn’t get any cuter and more personal than that!

Did You Think to Pray Today?
I saw this tutorial on another bloggers sight…but honestly, for the life of me, I can’t recall whos so I apologize in advance!! The blogger did made it slightly different than I…using printed tissue paper while I used my silhouette machine.
I started by painting the outsides of these oval plaques with a wood stain… I then used my nifty silhouette machine to cut PERFECT ovals and modge podged them on. Resorting back to my silhouette machine, I then cut the black letters and even though they were self adhesive vinyl, I modge podged over them for a clean look. I thought they needed some pizazz so on went the buttons and after stapling a cute ribbon onto the back they are ready for reminding my kids to pray Pretty Cute, eh?

A Whoville Christmas Tree
The furniture in our living room is blue and I was thinking of doing a patriotic tree (Red, white and Blue) but then I thought it might be even more different and even more creative to do a take on “Whoville”. You know, as in the Grinch…
Well, those crazy blues, pinks and purples along with some lime green and orange are the theme of my Christmas tree. And I LOVE it!
However, finding these colors in Christmas ornaments isn’t easy and isn’t cheap. So off to Michaels I went to get these clear glass balls that I got on sale (cyber Monday coupon). I went into the paint section and picked out colors that match my tree's décor. That’s all you need to create your own glass ball ornaments.
You start by pouring a few drops of your first color into the bottom of the ornament…then shake, shake, shake senora! Or you can get really crazy and pour a little paint down each side of the ball to create a vertical line affect.
then pour your second color in the ball and again…shake, shake, shake senora
Look at how awesomely cool these are…
Looks like it’s a Whoville Christmas at our house!
A purpose at last :)
So, do you remember my ‘getting creative at the dollar store” post? Well those bad boys have been sitting around the house with no purpose. but today, as I was going to chuck ‘em….I fell in love with them!
Cute, huh?
