The furniture in our living room is blue and I was thinking of doing a patriotic tree (Red, white and Blue) but then I thought it might be even more different and even more creative to do a take on “Whoville”. You know, as in the Grinch…
Well, those crazy blues, pinks and purples along with some lime green and orange are the theme of my Christmas tree. And I LOVE it!
However, finding these colors in Christmas ornaments isn’t easy and isn’t cheap. So off 
to Michaels I went to get these clear glass balls that I got on sale (cyber Monday coupon). I went into the paint section and picked out colors that match my tree's décor. That’s all you need to create your own glass ball ornaments.
You start by pouring a few drops of your first color into the 
bottom of the ornament…then shake, shake, shake senora! Or you can get really crazy and pour a little paint down each side of the ball to create a vertical line affect.
then pour your second color in the ball and again…shake, shake, shake senora 
Look at how awesomely cool these are…

So, do you remember my ‘getting creative at the dollar store” post? Well those bad boys have been sitting around the house with no purpose. but today, as I was going to chuck ‘em….I fell in love with them!
Cute, huh? 
I don’t know about you, but my spice cabinet always seems to get messy fast. 
Well I finally decided to do something about it! I bought these 4oz spice jars from Crate and Barrel. Then I used my silhouette to create 4” circles and printed them out onto colored vinyl (color coded according to spice…I know, I’m anal)
I labeled them and voila! Drab to Fab!
And it even made room for me to use this old cabinet for other uses!

My mom asked me and my son Lucas to make the Thanksgiving favors this year. When I went into Michaels, I was totally disheartened to see that right after Halloween they skip over Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas!! How sad is that?!?! So I had to be creative and come up with a favor on my own…no kits for kiddies. I bought fall colored jingle bells, small foam leaves (which I cut down to be that funny thing that hangs from the turkey’s mouth), googly eyes, wooden hearts, and fall colored feathers. Lucas painted the hearts brown for the turkey’s feet and with a little hot glue these guys came out kinda cute! I also added a magnet onto the back so they could be used on the frig.
**Note: In turning the jingle bell so that the part you would put the string is the face, it makes the turkey’s nose!!

welcome sign when guests arrive. I printed “welcome” with my SIL on vinyl and put it on the front of the pumpkin (Verdana font) . I put “Autumn” and “Harvest” on the three stacked pumpkins as demonstrated by my lovely assistant
(my hubby). I’ll get to those in a bit. From here I went to Michaels and found 5 different ribbons that I liked…different thicknesses…and cut them between 6 and 8 inches long each. I batched them up in 5’s and tied them together at the top. Next I hot glued them toe the stem of the pumpkin. One of the ribbons had wire so 
I twisted it and when I got the look I wanted I used some tacky glue (scrapbooking stash) to hold it down. Lastly, I used cute orange buttons on the stem to hide the hot glued part of the ribbon. 
using my friend Valspar Metallic and the SIL…added the words “autumn” and “harvest”…wrapped these cute beads-on-a-vine (as seen in my previous post) around them and Ta Da!
